Fuses and Circuit Protection

1) Do I need a fuse?

Yes, the power supply line to each servo controller must have a fuse.

The electronics will attempt to prevent overload conditions, but if the electronics fail, then an external fuse is the only way to prevent a potential fire hazard.

2) What type of fuse should I use?

Each servo controller requires a slow-blow fuse rated at or slightly above the momentary surge current experienced in normal operation.
